Job summary

State of Maryland, Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), Jessup Campus, seeks an experienced supervisor for addiction counseling programs. You will oversee clinical supervision, ensure compliance with COMAR standards, and guide staff delivering substance use disorder treatment in a correctional setting.

The role requires licensure as an LCDC or CPCA (pre-2008) and demonstrated leadership in program administration, quality assurance, and cross‑agency coordination.

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Certified Professional Counselor–Alcohol and Drug before September 30, 2008.
• Experience requirements set by Maryland Board for counselors/licensing.
• Must meet all minimum qualifications and certifications to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clinical supervision to addiction counselors.
• Lead and evaluate staff performance and client records.
• Oversee data collection, reporting, and service administration.
• Review and update procedures for assessments and counseling interventions.
• Monitor quality assurance to ensure compliant treatment services.
• Coordinate with regional services to align with departmental strategy.
• Mentor staff and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Maintain relationships with external providers for aftercare services.
• Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.
