Job summary

Medica, a nonprofit health plan serving multiple states, seeks an Associate General Counsel III to join its Legal Department and support the Provider Network contracting team. This role protects the organization's rights in contract negotiations and settlements, and provides comprehensive legal guidance on insurance, health, government programs, and commercial matters.

You will draft provider contract templates, negotiate with provider counsel, support quality of care investigations, and advise

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA‑accredited law school and a current license to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5+ years work experience beyond degree.
• Contract experience and negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft provider contract templates, amendments, including value‑based payment provisions
• Be the first point of contact for Network contract managers with provider contract questions
• Negotiate directly with provider legal counsel
• Provide legal support for provider quality of care and FWA investigations and regulatory responses
• Advise on disputes and claims payment issues with providers
• Research State/Federal laws and regulations
