Job summary

Medica, a nonprofit health plan, seeks an Associate General Counsel III to join our Legal Department and support the Provider Network contracting team. The role protects the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements, and dispute resolution, and may specialize in areas such as insurance, health, and regulatory compliance.

The position is onsite with stated locations near Minneapolis, Madison, Omaha or St.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a current license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of work experience beyond degree.
• Contract experience and negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft provider contract templates and amendments including value-based payment provisions.
• Serve as the first point of contact for contract managers on template questions.
• Negotiate directly with provider legal counsel.
• Support provider quality of care investigations and regulatory responses.
• Advise on disputes over claims payments with providers.
• Research State and Federal laws and regulations.
