Medica is seeking an Associate General Counsel III to join our Legal Department and support the Provider Network contracting team. The role involves protecting the organization's rights in contract negotiations and disputes, with specialization possible in areas such as insurance, health, and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a J.D. degree and a current license to practice law, with 5+ years of relevant experience, and contract negotiation expertise.

Qualifications

J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school; current license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
5+ years of work experience beyond degree.
Contract experience and negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

Draft provider contract templates and amendments with value-based payment provisions.
Serve as first point of contact for contract managers on template questions and counterproposal language.
Negotiate directly with provider counsel.
Provide legal support for quality of care investigations and regulatory responses involving providers.
Advise on disputes related to claims payments with providers.
Research state and federal laws, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance.
