Job summary

GEICO seeks an experienced litigation attorney to lead privacy and cybersecurity disputes, anticipate regulatory inquiries, and support investigations. The role involves collaboration with business, technology, and information security leaders within a busy legal department.

You will oversee outside counsel, manage complex commercial and IP matters, and advise senior leadership on risk and strategy in a rapidly evolving landscape. Hybrid work options available in multiple locations.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of litigation experience in law firms, government, or in-house.
• Substantial privacy, cybersecurity, data breach, or technology-related litigation experience.
• Experience conducting or directing investigations involving data privacy, cybersecurity, or technology issues.
• Working knowledge of federal and state privacy, data security, and consumer protection laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage privacy and cybersecurity litigation, including putative class actions and multi-plaintiff matters.
• Direct privileged investigations involving data incidents and privacy complaints with cross-functional partners.
• Develop litigation strategy for complex commercial, corporate, and IP matters aligned with business objectives.
• Provide counsel on litigation trends, risk exposure, and cross-functional advisory support.
