Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Counsel, Transactions to identify and resolve highly complex legal issues and draft and negotiate sophisticated corporate transactions. You will manage M&A, licensing, and collaboration/joint venture deals, while guiding internal clients and outside counsel.

You will stay current on antitrust, IP, and regulatory matters affecting pharma partnerships, and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff in cross-functional settings.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in job location.
• Minimum of 4 years of legal experience; in-house or healthcare compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve highly complex legal issues in corporate transactions.
• Draft and negotiate M&A, licensing, and collaboration/joint venture agreements.
• Manage outside counsel and supervise project objectives and timelines.
• Provide counsel on antitrust, competition, IP, and regulatory matters across jurisdictions.
