Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a Senior Counsel, Global Commercial Legal to develop legal strategy for Oncology medicines. You will partner with cross-functional teams to navigate regulatory, commercial, and compliance issues, shaping decisions that balance patient access with business objectives.

Based at AbbVie's U.S. commercial headquarters in Mettawa, IL or Florham Park, NJ, with a hybrid on-site model (onsite 3+ days/week).

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience (in-house pharma, life sciences, or related).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key legal advisor to cross-functional teams within AbbVie's Oncology business unit on commercial, regulatory, and compliance issues.
• Provide guidance on FDA regulations, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute and other regulatory frameworks.
• Support development and implementation of legal policies, training programs, and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve disputes and influence outcomes.
• Advise on government policy initiatives affecting pharma, such as IRA and PBM reforms.
