Job summary

Vast, a leader in the space industry, seeks an Associate General Counsel to support contracts, regulatory regimes, and security requirements for defense and allied customers. You will be the in-house legal lead for national security and satellite programs, advising on how Vast designs, builds, sells, and operates spacecraft.

Qualifications

• J.D. admitted to practice in a state bar and eligible for in-house practice in CA or DC.
• 9+ years in a legal role with government contracts or national security transactions.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and related regulatory regimes.

Responsibilities

• Advise on national security and satellite transactions from capture to closeout.
• Structure and negotiate high-value space and defense agreements, OTAs, and prime/subcontractor arrangements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enable deals while maintaining compliance and risk controls.
• Potentially support export licensing, classifications, and security clearances as needed.
