Job summary

Spotify's Legal team is growing, seeking an in-house Counsel, Litigation in New York. You will manage a variety of copyright and patent disputes, coordinate with outside counsel, and craft risk-based strategies across business lines.

The role emphasizes proactive processes, e-discovery, and clear communication with non-legal partners. You will contribute to scalable dispute management, training teams, and advising on resolution plans while balancing company objectives and risk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience at a law firm or in-house
• Experience with e-discovery and multi-jurisdictional disputes
• Ability to evaluate copyright claims and develop defense strategies
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Comfort communicating technical copyright issues to non-lawyers

Responsibilities

• Coordinate litigation and other dispute matters across multiple practice areas, including copyright and patent litigation.
• Work with outside counsel to develop case strategy and manage budgets.
• Provide proactive advice on dispute avoidance and risk mitigation.
• Develop litigation strategies and coordinate with internal teams and communications.
• Stay current on patent and copyright developments that affect technology and media.
