Job summary

Snap Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Counsel, Music to lead global music licensing and partnerships from Santa Monica, CA or New York, NY. You will structure, draft, and negotiate complex agreements with labels, publishers, PROs, and other rights holders, advising product and business teams on music rights.

You will also guide on generative AI, copyright compliance, and risk mitigation while mentoring junior lawyers and coordinating with outside counsel across regions.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in music licensing and publishing rights.
• Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex digital music transactions.
• Strong understanding of copyright law in digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead global music licensing strategy and negotiate complex agreements with labels, publishers, CMOs, PROs and rights holders.
• Advise senior leaders on deal strategy and commercial terms.
• Counsel cross-functional teams on music rights, copyright, and product constraints.
• Provide guidance on generative AI and evolving tech issues involving music rights.
• Develop practical copyright compliance and risk-mitigation measures across products.
