Job summary

Method is seeking a Senior Counsel to drive the commercial legal engine as it expands from a single line of business into a multi-product fintech platform. You will partner with go-to-market teams, drafting, negotiating, and executing lending and commerce agreements, while shaping AI-assisted workflows and playbooks for speed and accuracy.

You will lead the full contracting lifecycle, influence regulatory and product counseling, and build scalable processes across Legal, Sales, and Compliance.

Qualifications

• At least three years post-JD experience in commercial law in the consumer finance industry.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements independently.
• Prior consumer finance experience with regulatory knowledge.
• Interest in building AI-assisted legal tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial contracting – Draft, review, and negotiate lending agreements independently, from first draft through signature.
• Serve as the primary legal partner for go-to-market – Advise account executives and customer success, speeding commercial requests.
• Design workflow automation and review tooling to increase legal throughput.
• Establish clear, efficient workflows between Legal and Sales, Customer Success, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Product.
• Expand legal support to emerging commerce product as the business grows.
