Job summary

Nomura in New York, NY seeks a VP/ED in Global Markets Legal to structure, negotiate and execute a broad range of equity products, with focus on OTC derivatives and swaps, cash and synthetic prime brokerage, structured notes and proprietary indices.

The role collaborates with Business, Risk and Compliance, advises on regulatory changes, and supports ongoing advocacy in Equities, with strong analytical, communication and independent work capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with equity products, including OTC derivatives and swaps.
• Familiarity with ISDA and other industry documentation.
• Familiarity with corporate, securities, creditor, finance and bankruptcy laws.
• Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -- ability to interact effectively with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Business with respect to structuring, sale, negotiation, documentation and execution of a wide range of equity products.
• Advise and assist in the creation, structuring, regulatory analysis and launch of new products and businesses.
• Interpret, educate and assist with regulatory changes that impact Equities businesses.
• Advise the Business, Risk, Compliance and others on legal and regulatory issues, developments and risks.
• Assist with ongoing advocacy efforts relating to regulatory changes impacting Equities businesses.
