Job summary

Mizuho is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its equity sales and trading platform in New York City. This role focuses on equity derivatives and structured finance, drafting and negotiating complex trading documentation, and managing legal risks.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.), be a member of the New York State Bar, and possess over 5 years of relevant legal experience in a financial institution. The position includes a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience within a financial institution or top-tier law firm.
• Proficient in Dodd-Frank Act and derivatives regulations.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative team player with interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal coverage for equities sales and trading business.
• Draft, review, and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements.
• Advise on regulatory and documentation requirements related to derivatives.
• Support trading activity across equity swaps, options, and forwards.

Skills

Education
