Job summary

HackerOne seeks a trusted Senior Counsel, Employment & Compliance to lead the legal team’s employment, litigation, and compliance functions. The role partners with executives to balance risk with rapid growth, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer.

You will own corporate compliance programs, governance, ethics, workforce policies, and leverage data-driven guidance to align legal with business goals. This is a remote role with flexibility for candidates near key locations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with active bar admission in good standing.
• 7+ years of legal experience advising on global labor and employment matters, compliance, employee relations, and investigations.
• Experience managing complex legal matters including litigation, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional legal advisory work.
• Ability to provide clear, practical guidance to business stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted senior advisor to executives and cross-functional stakeholders on U.S. and global labor and employment matters.
• Advise People team on employee relations issues, compliance, investigations, and performance management.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Product, and Revenue teams to advise on platform legal risk while balancing business objectives.
• Manage dispute resolution, legal holds, e-discovery, subpoenas, and regulatory investigations.
• Provide counsel on regulatory and compliance issues related to the platform, customers, and workforce.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for legal research, risk identification, and workflow efficiency.
