Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Lead Counsel for Employment, Benefits & Executive Compensation in a hybrid setup with Richmond, VA preferred and options in Jacksonville, FL or Alpharetta, GA. You will partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to provide strategic legal guidance on labor, benefits, and executive compensation while shaping governance frameworks for a standalone healthcare enterprise.

The role requires a JD and U.S.

Qualifications

JD and active U.S. bar membership.
10–15 years of relevant legal experience (firm and/or in-house preferred).
Experience counseling on employment, benefits, and executive compensation.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and advise senior leaders.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as lead legal advisor on labor, employment, benefits, and executive compensation.
Design scalable governance frameworks and risk management strategies.
Draft HR, employment, and benefits agreements and policies.
Collaborate with HR and business leaders to mitigate labor and compliance risks.
Manage outside counsel, budgeting, and scope.
Anticipate regulatory developments and implement proactive compliance.
Balance legal requirements with business needs in a dynamic environment.
