Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Lead Counsel, Employment to support its Technology, Risk & People pillar within MMS. The role provides strategic labor, employment and benefits guidance, partnering with HR, Finance and executives to steer high‑impact workforce initiatives and governance.

The position reports to the Managing Principal Counsel, Technology, Risk & People and requires a JD with an active U.S. bar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead legal advisor on labor, employment, employee benefits, and executive compensation matters.
• Design and implement scalable legal, compliance, and governance frameworks to support growth and public‑company readiness.
• Draft or comment on HR, employment and benefits agreements, policies and guidelines.
• Collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify and mitigate labor and benefits risks.
• Oversee outside counsel with budgeting and scope management.
• Balance competing priorities in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
• Anticipate regulatory developments and implement proactive compliance measures.
