The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. This can be a remote role, US.

Job Description

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement offers legal advice and support to GE Aerospace's organization. You will be part of a dynamic Legal and Compliance team that serves as internal subject matter experts on legal matters. The role requires a sophisticated, business-oriented attorney capable of working effectively across all organizational levels, collaborating with legal groups and cross-functional teams to draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, especially in DT/IT procurement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice related to digital technology agreements, including structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals, supporting commercial or U.S. government business, and addressing disputes with suppliers.
  • Advise legal and non-legal colleagues on legal and business issues.
  • Oversee audits related to emerging risks and implement protective strategies.
  • Develop solutions for legal and business issues and growth initiatives.
  • Manage referrals to in-house legal specialists and outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar.
  • At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on Technology.
  • Experience negotiating technology procurement agreements, including software licenses, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, telecom, and hardware agreements.
  • Experience with global data privacy laws and cybersecurity standards (ISO, NIST).
  • Experience with intellectual property considerations in technology agreements.
  • Understanding of standard market terms in technology contracts.
  • Ability to structure, interpret, and negotiate complex deals.
  • Ability to evaluate and advise on legal and commercial risks.
  • Strong collaboration and decision-making skills.
