Job Description Summary

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. This role can be remote within the US.

Job Description

The Senior Commercial Counsel for DT/IT procurement offers legal advice and support to GE Aerospace's organization. You will be part of a dynamic Legal and Compliance team, serving as internal subject matter experts on legal matters. You should be a sophisticated, business-oriented attorney capable of working effectively at all organizational levels, collaborating across legal and business teams to draft and negotiate agreements, especially in DT/IT procurement.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on digital technology agreements, including structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals, supporting US government and commercial purchases, handling disputes, and related issues.
• Advise legal and non-legal colleagues on legal and business issues.
• Oversee audits related to emerging risks, implement strategies to mitigate risks, and manage corrective actions.
• Proactively address legal and business issues and support growth initiatives.
• Manage referrals to internal legal specialists and outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing with the State Bar.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on technology.
• Experience negotiating technology procurement agreements, including software licenses, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, telecom, and hardware agreements.
• Knowledge of global data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards (ISO, NIST), and intellectual property considerations in technology transactions.
• Ability to interpret complex deals and advise on legal and commercial risks.
