Job summary

Legend Biotech in Bridgewater, NJ, seeks an Associate General Counsel to lead U.S. and EU contracting, overseeing a team and advising on strategic transactions tied to Janssen collaborations. The role reports to the General Counsel and drives business development, licensing, and corporate governance in a fast-paced biotech environment.

The candidate will manage three direct reports, guide contract lifecycle policies, and collaborate with tax, accounting and business leaders across functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience in complex strategic transactions in life sciences.
• Experience leading a contracting function and managing direct reports.
• Ability to advise senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of US regulatory environment for global life sciences.
• Licensed to practice in NJ or eligible for in-house NJ.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of complex strategic transactions with BD/licensing focus.
• Serve as primary legal contact for Janssen collaboration and related programs.
• Lead US/EU contracting function, supervise 3 direct reports and contract lifecycle systems.
• Support GC on governance, subsidiary management and intercompany arrangements.
• Maintain books and records for US/EU subsidiaries; coordinate with tax and accounting.
