Job summary

Legend Biotech in Bridgewater, NJ (hybrid) seeks a Patent Counsel/Senior Patent Counsel with large molecule expertise to draft and prosecute patent portfolios, support due diligence, and work with outside counsel to enable strategic transactions.

The role reports to the Global Head of Intellectual Property and involves travel between Legend's HQ in Bridgewater, NJ and R&D locations in Philadelphia, PA and Somerset, NJ. Requires USPTO admission and 8+ years in life sciences patent practice.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in biological sciences; J.D. and USPTO admission required.
• 8+ years of patent attorney experience in life sciences patent prosecution.
• Experience with pharma/biotech corporate settings or law firms.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic IP procurement and management of global portfolios.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications and coordinate with outside counsel.
• Support due diligence, freedom-to-operate, and risk analyses.
• Review and negotiate IP provisions in commercial agreements.
