Michael Baker International in the United States seeks an experienced Senior Counsel to draft, review, and negotiate contracts for engineering, architecture and technology services, under the Chief Legal Officer. This hybrid role engages with corporate staff daily to advise on laws and regulations.

You will interpret federal and state regulations, manage claims and outside counsel, and provide guidance to stakeholders on risk and compliance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of related in-house and/or law firm experience.
• Contract drafting and litigation/claims handling experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal agreements/documents relating to engineering, architecture and other services.
• Research and interpret laws, regulations, decisions and rulings and counsel stakeholders on compliance.
• Provide legal guidance and training on internal/external business affairs, transactions and policies.
• Advise on risk mitigation strategies pertaining to legal issues and claims.
• Manage litigation and outside counsel for the company.
• Assist in preparation of corporate policies, meeting minutes and leases.
