Job summary

Mason Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to provide broad-based legal advice and services across contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You will work under the direction of the VP & General Counsel to support governance and policy development.

Ideal candidates have a J.D., active U.S. bar, and at least 5 years’ experience, with strong contract drafting and a background in compliance programs and investigations.

Qualifications

• J.D. required with active bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of legal experience; in-house and/or financial sector preferred.
• Experience supporting compliance programs and investigations.
• Strong drafting and contract experience; knowledge of banking laws helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad legal advice on contracts, transactions, marketing, risk and compliance.
• Develop and improve policies, procedures and training for compliance.
• Coordinate with outside counsel as needed to deliver services.
• Support regulatory filings, licenses, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct investigations and remediation with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in risk assessment and governance initiatives.
