Job summary

The attorney will advise project teams, coordinate with outside counsel, and participate in settlements, risk management, and administrative proceedings, contributing to the Commonwealth’s public infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

  • JD degree and MA Bar admission.
  • At least six years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) legal experience.
  • Supervisory experience may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise DCAMM leadership on legal issues arising from public construction and capital projects.
  • Provide guidance on construction contracts, procurement, change orders, delays, defaults, and disputes.
  • Assist with litigation, arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, and other dispute-resolution matters.
  • Evaluate claims and disputes involving contractors, designers, consultants, vendors, and agencies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate settlement agreements, amendments, and other legal documents.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks early to prevent formal disputes.
