Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is hiring a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions for a remote US role focused on sophisticated insurance distribution and reinsurance transactions. You will structure, draft, and negotiate complex contracts and coordinate cross‑functional teams.

You must have a U.S.-qualified J.D. and 10+ years of experience, with strong communication and collaboration skills. Travel may be required to support CSAA’s strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements, including agency and aggregator relationships.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, multi‑party insurance programs and commercial transactions, including fleet programs and fronting arrangements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic and emerging initiatives and contribute to other areas handled by the team.
