Job summary

Sylvan Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial & Regulatory Attorney to join its new in-house legal team.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead the negotiation, drafting, and lifecycle management of construction project agreements and other commercial contracts across North America, helping the business scale responsibly. This high-visibility role also advises on regulatory compliance programs, coordinates with operational teams and outside counsel, and guides cross-border

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active U.S. state bar membership.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Experience improving templates, playbooks, and intake/workflow processes.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of construction and commercial agreements.
• Advise on contract risk areas and develop practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Lead contract lifecycle management and contribute to templates and playbooks.
• Counsel on bid terms, flow-down obligations, and contract close-out practices.
• Assist with claims avoidance and pre-litigation dispute management.
