Job summary

Meta is seeking a Lead Counsel for its AI Partnerships group to drive the commercialization of Meta's AI models across ecosystems. You will structure, negotiate, and close complex deals, advise on data licensing, and work with product, policy, and engineering teams to enable fast-moving AI initiatives.

Based in Austin or other US locations, you will partner with cloud providers and platform ecosystems, manage risk, and help advance Meta's AI strategy while upholding ethical and regulatory

Qualifications

• J.D. (or equivalent) and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience in technology transactions, commercial licensing, or partnerships.
• Experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements (cloud, SaaS, platform, or similar tech deals).
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, drive deals to close with minimal oversight.
• Experience assessing legal risk and advising on risk mitigation in evolving regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support distribution agreements for Meta's AI models across CSPs and ecosystems.
• Structure, negotiate, and close distribution and other commercial agreements protecting Meta's interests.
• Lead or support large-scale AI commercial transactions including partnerships and licensing.
• Advise on data acquisition and licensing for model training and product development.
• Provide commercial legal counsel to teams building AI-powered consumer experiences across Meta apps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable fast-moving commercial activity.
