Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Counsel for Advanced Nuclear to provide strategic legal guidance to the leadership team and navigate regulatory environments and complex commercial transactions surrounding advanced reactor technologies.

You will draft, negotiate, and manage technology licensing, partnerships, and government-funded contracts; coordinate NRC licensing and DOE funding processes; and lead cross‑functional teams to ensure legal strategy aligns with business goals.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active state bar.
• 8+ years in top-tier law firm or in-house, preferably nuclear or regulated tech.
• Strong contract law and complex commercial contracts knowledge.
• Experience with NRC licensing and DOE grants/funding helpful.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to simplify legal issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance to Advanced Nuclear leadership on commercial strategies.
• Draft and negotiate complex technology licensing and government-funded contracts.
• Coordinate regulatory licensing with NRC and international counterparts.
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks in deployments of advanced nuclear tech.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, supply chain, and government affairs.
• Lead cross-functional legal teams including IP, Trade Compliance, Government Contracting.
