Jobot in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Attorney with civil litigation defense experience to join our growing firm. This leadership role offers remote-friendly work options, a lucrative bonus potential, 401(k) match, and unlimited PTO.

You will manage a full caseload, draft pleadings and motions, supervise junior associates, and collaborate with partners on depositions and negotiations while staying current on Westlaw research.

Competenze

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
• 4+ years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense a plus)
• Proficiency with Westlaw and staying up-to-date with developments
• Experience managing junior associates and leading teams
• Experience taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and legal research
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to work independently or in a team
• Trial experience is a plus

Salary $150,000 - $215,000 per year

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Attorney with civil litigation defense experience to join our office in San Diego. This is an exciting opportunity with a growing firm to take on a leadership role and help shape the future of the firm. We will consider remote candidates (located and licensed in CA) who have proven success working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full case load of pre-litigation and active litigation cases.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, discovery motions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for meetings, depositions, and negotiations.
• Conduct legal research to advise clients of the merits of their claims and those asserted against them.
• Negotiate with clients, opposing counsel, and other interested parties to resolve legal disputes and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Offer guidance and support to junior associates, contributing to their professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active member of the State Bar of California, and in good standing
• 4+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on civil litigation (insurance defense a plus)
• Proficiency in legal research software, including Westlaw, and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
• Experience managing junior associates and a desire to take on a leadership role
• Experience in taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions and legal research
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Trial experience not required, but is a plus
