Qualifications

• 5–10 years of legal experience.
• Strong commercial contracts experience.

• Experience with broker-dealer and/or CFTC matters.
• New York/EST preferred.

About the Company

We are working with a crypto-native trading and technology firm specializing in quantitative strategies, automated market making, and DeFi infrastructure. The business is founder-owned, bootstrapped, and executes hundreds of millions in weekly trading volume across centralized and decentralized exchanges.

The team brings experience from trading firms, Web3 ecosystems, and DeFi-native protocols, operating at the intersection of digital assets, decentralized finance, and traditional financial markets.

The Role

The firm is looking for an experienced Associate General Counsel to take on a senior role across its legal and regulatory function.

This is a highly commercial position for an attorney who understands the intersection of crypto, trading, financial regulation, and commercial contracts. You’ll work closely with leadership and the broader business, providing practical legal guidance as the firm continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and trading-related agreements
• Advise on legal and regulatory matters across crypto, DeFi, and TradFi
• Provide guidance relating to broker-dealer and CFTC matters
• Support matters involving prediction markets and emerging financial products
• Partner with leadership on new products, counterparties, trading initiatives, and commercial opportunities
• Monitor developments across digital-asset and financial-services regulation
• Help develop scalable legal processes as the business continues to grow

Ideal Background

• 5–10 years of legal experience
• Strong commercial contracts experience
• Background within crypto, digital assets, DeFi, trading, fintech, or financial services
• Knowledge of traditional financial markets
• Experience with broker-dealer and/or CFTC matters
• Prediction markets experience is a plus
• Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, founder-led environment
• New York / EST preferred
