Confidential Quantitative Investment Firm is seeking a General Counsel in New York to serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and to shape a sophisticated quantitative trading and investment platform.

The role partners with senior management on legal, regulatory, transactional, and governance initiatives while building a scalable legal function within a fast-paced, data-driven organization.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership.
• 12+ years of legal experience in investments/fintech or financial regulation.
• Experience advising financial institutions, asset managers, or trading firms.

Responsibilities

• Act as the chief legal advisor to the firm and executive leadership.
• Provide guidance on legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
• Support domestic and international business growth initiatives.
• Oversee matters relating to investment management, trading activities, market structure, and financial regulations.
• Advise on strategic transactions, commercial agreements, technology partnerships, and vendor negotiations.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory authorities.
• Partner with compliance, risk, operations, and business teams to identify and mitigate legal risk.
• Develop and enhance legal policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Support board and senior management activities as needed.
