Location: Springfield, Mo. (Remote option available)

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for performing high-level analysis and preparing cost reports to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves evaluating costs incurred, resources utilized, and providing detailed reports to assist management in decision-making regarding cost management and efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and certify cost reports for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with finance, HR, and operations departments to gather data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, reviewing and adjusting costs based on federal allowable cost guidance.
- Conduct periodic cost report analysis and ensure accounting procedures are adequate. Report findings to management for decision-making and control.
- Manage wrap accruals for FQHC departments, including dental and other services.
- Research and prepare variance analyses and explanations, analyzing costs and resource utilization.
- Recommend process improvements to Finance and Operations leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of GAAP accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
Experience and/or Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Familiarity with federal cost principles and guidelines required.
- Minimum of five years' accounting or finance experience.
- At least two years' experience in a cost accounts department or similar role.
- Experience with healthcare cost report preparation and analysis required.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful background check including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation and required training (including Relias) at the start and annually.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing. Repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing or writing. Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
