Job summary

KOB Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead labor absorption rate development, pricing analysis, and project costing. You will support financial reporting, GL activities, and month-end close while driving cost accuracy and margin insight across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and ERP proficiency (Dynamics preferred). Bachelor's in Accounting required; on-site role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with an integrated ERP and data entry systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in project, job, or service-based cost accounting; related industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update absorption rates for labor burden and materials to ensure accurate pricing and billing.
• Perform project accounting, cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin by customer, project, and division; recommend pricing adjustments.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to ensure labor costs are charged to correct projects.
• Collaborate with operations to review cost centers, expense coding, and allocations; resolve discrepancies.
• Support monthly close for multiple entities, including journal entries and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and interact with banks and insurers as needed.
• Assist Controller with financial analysis, system changes, processes improvements, and strategic initiatives.
