Job summary

Mace is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to lead cost control and procurement strategy across complex projects in Texas. You will oversee feasibility studies, cost planning and reporting, while guiding procurement and contract management to deliver value.

The role requires 6–10 years in cost management or quantity surveying, deep knowledge of contracts, and strong stakeholder management. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of cost management, quantity surveying or commercial management experience.
• Strong cost planning, budgeting, estimating and cost management skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or equivalent.
• Detailed knowledge of construction contracts and measurement methods.
• Experience with value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection.
• Writes and undertakes procurement reports and applies value management at project outset.
• Manages estimating and cost planning, presenting final cost plans.
• Contributes to procurement processes across prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation.
• Supervises contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses; assists execution.
• Advises on administration of building contract terms.
• Measures valuations of work and ensures cost checking and reporting.
• Ensures cost control and monthly post-contract cost reporting to the client.
• Identifies costs from design changes, awards, construction and client charges.
• Oversees evaluation of delay and extra-cost claims by contractors and subs.
• Provides advice on making good defects and final completion certificates.
• Advises on practical completion certificates and final accounts negotiation.
• Manages Cost Consultants team; provides guidance, coaching and performance management.
• Delivers system/process improvements and transformational change.
• Mentors and trains team members; shares domain expertise.
• Develops internal/external relationships and maintains stakeholder engagement.
• Drives continuous improvement and carbon emissions reduction during delivery.
