Job summary

Mace is seeking a skilled Cost Consultant to lead cost management across projects, delivering feasibility studies, cost planning, and procurement guidance. You will manage contract administration, perform valuations, and drive reporting and cost control to support client objectives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to process improvements within a flexible hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in quantity surveying or equivalent, MRICS/RICS or working towards.
• Proven cost consultancy experience with cost planning and budgeting.
• Understanding of contracts, measurement methods and risk implications.
• MRICS/RICS membership or active progression toward it.
• Experience with contract administration and management.

Responsibilities

• Conducts feasibility studies and advises on procurement strategies and contract selection.
• Applies value management techniques at project outset.
• Manages cost planning activities and presents final cost plan.
• Assists in procurement and selection of main contractors.
• Prepares contract documents, warranties, licenses and related executions.
• Advises on administration of contract terms and valuation of works.
• Provides cost control and reporting during the contract.
• Identifies costs from design changes and client charges.
• Evaluates delay and additional cost claims.
• Mentors junior team members and seeks improvements in processes.
• Develops relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
