Job summary

At Mace, a leading construction consultancy, we seek a Cost Consultant to support procurement, cost planning and contract administration across projects. You will work with clients and teams to manage budgets, prepare cost plans, and monitor performance while mentoring junior colleagues.

The role offers hybrid working options in the US and opportunities to contribute to value engineering and BIM-enabled project delivery, with a commitment to inclusivity and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in cost management or quantity surveying.
• MRICS/​RICS or equivalent professional membership.
• Experience with cost planning, budgeting and estimating.
• Understanding of contract types and measurement methods.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies.
• Acknowledge value management techniques at project outset.
• Manage, estimate and plan costs, including final cost plan.
• Assist in procurement and selection of the main contractor.
• Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses.
• Advise on administration of the terms of the building contract.
• Measure and provide valuations and adjust variations with contractor.
• Provide cost control and reporting during the contract.
• Identify costs from design changes and client charges.
• Support evaluation of delay and additional cost claims.
