Markent Personnel, Inc. seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to lead labor absorption rate development, project costing, and margin analyses, while supporting general ledger and month-end close. Role emphasizes accuracy in pricing, billing, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities include project cost tracking, unbilled revenue, and profitability reporting, with collaboration across divisions to ensure correct cost allocations and adherence to GAAP. Strong ERP/Dynamics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ERP systems proficiency with emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong general ledger accounting and financial reporting background.
• Experience in project, job, or service-based cost accounting.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 3–5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update absorption rates for labor burden and materials for accurate pricing and billing.
• Perform project accounting including cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and margin by customer/project/division; suggest pricing adjustments.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to ensure labor costs are captured against correct projects.
• Collaborate with operations to review cost centers and allocations, resolve discrepancies, and advise Controllers.
• Support monthly close for multiple entities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and interact with banks and insurers as needed.
• Assist Controllers with financial analysis, system changes, and process improvements.
