Job summary

Urban Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to join the Construction Services Department in the Baltimore region. The role focuses on senior-level cost estimating, project controls, and project management support for complex rail infrastructure projects, with on-site work in Baltimore a minimum of three days per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project controls, cost estimating, scheduling, or related disciplines for heavy civil/rail/transit projects.
• 5+ years of experience in passenger rail or related transportation modes.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and Primavera P6.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and client coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day management and delivery of project controls services for a major rail program.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project controls team (cost estimators, schedulers, risk professionals).
• Interface with client, project team, contractors, designers on cost, schedule, risk, and controls matters.
• Provide hands-on estimating and scheduling support; review and reconcile costs and schedules.
• Prepare Basis of Estimate docs, technical memos, schedule reviews, and other project controls deliverables.
