Brunel is recruiting a Senior Cost Estimator to work with our major Oil and Gas client in Houston, TX for initially 1 year contract.

We are partnering with a large-scale owner-operator to recruit a Senior Cost Estimatorto support major construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious professional who possesses a strong foundation in construction cost estimating, particularly in first principles estimating. System-specific experience (e.g., Cleopatra) is not essential — what's most important is your ability to build accurate estimates from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver detailed cost estimates for a range of ongoing major construction projects, ensuring accuracy and cost feasibility.
• Work closely with the Business-As-Usual (BAU) project team to refine, improve, and standardize estimating processes and cost control measures.
• Provide strategic cost insights and support project execution planning in an owner-operator environment.
• Participate in technical and behavioral project evaluations, contributing cost expertise and value engineering insights.
• Continuously seek improvements to the estimating function, aligning with project management and delivery best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cost estimating, with a strong background in large-scale construction projects.
• Proficient in first principles estimating, with the ability to develop comprehensive cost models without heavy reliance on pre-built databases or tools.
• Ambitious, proactive, and eager to further develop your expertise while adding immediate value to the team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
