Job summary

bp’s Archaea Energy division seeks a senior finance professional to support cost control and forecasting for our RNG and related projects in Houston. You will report to the CFO of Conifer Systems and collaborate with the Archaea Operational Accounting team on project cost control and revenue recognition in a manufacturing-like environment.

The role emphasizes financial reporting, monthly closes, tax compliance, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration, with a hybrid Houston/remote work

Qualifications

• 10 years accounting, process control, product or contract management experience (manufacturing environment).
• Knowledge of project cost control and revenue recognition strategies (standard cost, gross margin, completed contracts, percent of completion).
• Knowledge of business intelligence tools or software.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
• Project management and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements including balance sheet and income statement.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition through percentage of completion for construction/manufacturing accounting.
• Analyze and control costs for business unit projects including cost trend analyses.
• Compile supplemental financial reports based on financial statements.
• Implement policies and procedures for financial reporting as required.
• Responsible for monthly accounting close process.
• Support Supply Chain to ensure inventories and results are accurate.
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions including invoicing, A/R, A/P and procurement.
• Provide payroll, treasury management and general ledger support to Corporate.
• Assist with local, state and federal tax compliance and reporting.
• Assist CFO with budgeting process and forecasts.
• Participate in SOX compliance and external audits.
