AXG Contracting is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to support our capital project organization with cost control, forecasting, reporting, and analytics in Houston, TX. The role ensures project budgets, commitments, and expenditures are accurately tracked to support delivery and financial planning.

Qualified candidates bring 10+ years in cost analysis for pipeline or midstream projects, a degree in accounting/finance or related field, and strong Excel/analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Cost Analyst or related cost-control experience.
• Direct experience with pipeline or midstream capital projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field or equivalent experience
• Understanding of cost forecasting, budget management, and project finance concepts
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel)
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control total project spending, ensuring invoices, supplier claims, and subcontractor charges are verified and recorded accurately.
• Perform detailed cost status reviews, including analysis of committed costs, purchase orders, change orders, and overall budget variances.
• Develop and maintain cost forecasts, cash flows, progress curves, and updated spend projections for assigned projects and programs.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive cost reports highlighting open commitments, contingencies, and line-item variances.
• Lead and facilitate planning and forecasting sessions and serve as a point of contact for project cost inquiries.
• Support project close-out activities, including documentation and administrative closeout procedures.
