Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead project accounting and develop labor-based absorption rates supporting pricing, billing, and margin analysis. This role also supports financial reporting, general ledger activities, and month-end closing processes.

Responsibilities include updating absorption rates for labor and materials, project cost tracking, and analyzing rate spreads; assist with monthly close and external audits as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with an integrated ERP and data entry systems; Dynamics experience is a plus.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in project, job, or service-based cost accounting; industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update absorption rates for labor and materials for pricing and billing.
• Perform project accounting, including cost tracking and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and GM by customer/project; support pricing decisions.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to capture labor costs accurately.
• Collaborate with operations to review cost centers and allocations; support Controller.
• Support monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and interact with banks/insurers as needed.
• Assist Controller with financial analysis, system changes, and process improvements.
