Job summary

BioNano in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to own the integrity of inventory, manufacturing cost, and cost-of-goods-sold accounting. You will work with Microsoft Dynamics 365, perform standard costing, variances, close processes, and cost modeling.

Reporting to the CAO, you will collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure timely, accurate closes and provide actionable insights. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in cost accounting within manufacturing, strong GAAP knowledge,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with cost accounting and inventory in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience using inventory and manufacturing functionality within an ERP system.
• Experience owning core cost accounting activities during monthly and quarterly closes.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Close: ensure accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly close with work orders, COGS, variances, and reconciliations.
• Standard Costing: support and eventually own the standard costing process reflecting material, labor, overhead.
• Inventory Accounting and Controls: lead inventory counts, reserves, and surface financial implications.
• Variance and Cost Analysis: analyze variances and translate into actionable insights.
• Compliance and Audit Support: SOX business process owner for inventory and manufacturing controls; assist audits.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance on cost and margin analyses.
