Job summary

Quantum Design, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing cost accounting team.

You will analyze manufacturing costs, maintain standard costing, support close processes, and provide costing insights to inform pricing, profitability, and production decisions. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least five years in cost accounting in manufacturing, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance or related field.
• Five years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting and Analysis: analyze and monitor manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead).
• Month-End Close and Inventory: assist with month-end/year-end closing, reconcile inventory, physical counts.
• Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting: support budgeting and prepare cost reports for management.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with operations, engineering, and procurement on cost-saving opportunities.
• Controls, Audit and Compliance: support audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
