Job summary

Seattle City Light is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to maintain the general ledger and analyze cost data for approximately $6 billion in utility plant assets and $400 million in annual capital additions.

You will collaborate with power generation, IT and other units to ensure cost tracking, lead the final bill process for large Time & Material jobs, and deliver ad-hoc reports with GASB/GAAP/FERC compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 3 years’ professional experience in general or governmental accounting.
• Experience with GASB, GAAP and FERC accounting standards.
• Ability to pull data with SQL, Excel and Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with power generation, energy conservation, IT, engineering and admin units to track costs.
• Monitor work-in-process and asset depreciation; record asset retirements.
• Lead final bill cost processes for Time & Material projects.
• Prepare journals, grant cost reporting, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Deliver financial reporting and management insights; refine accounting processes.
