Job summary

SAWS is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform professional accounting functions and prepare management and financial reports in accordance with GAAP. You will reconcile general ledger accounts, analyze transactions, and produce reports for internal and external use.

The role includes CIP project review, capital asset capitalization decisions, and collaboration with engineering and operations to maintain accurate financial records and support audits and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited institution.
• Three years' professional accounting experience.
• Experience using automated accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Researches and reconciles general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers and financial reports.
• Develops financial reports for management to facilitate analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Reviews CIP projects, ensuring costs are accurately processed and tracked.
• Prepares supporting schedules and analyses for management reporting, audits and regulatory compliance.
