We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and manufacturing cost analysis within a technology-driven manufacturing environment. This role will analyze cost structures, manufacturing variances, product profitability, and budget-to-actual results while partnering with Accounting, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
The ideal candidate brings strong cost accounting and manufacturing finance experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and accounting documentation.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, product costs, margins, and profitability.
- Support standard costing, cost updates, and analysis of manufacturing variances and PPV.
- Analyze inventory, E&O, inventory reconciliations, and other manufacturing-related accounting activity.
- Develop and maintain cost models to evaluate production processes, cost drivers, yields, capacity, and technology investments.
- Perform budget-versus-actual analysis and identify cost trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support financial reporting, management reporting packages, and accounting compliance.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and implementation of new costing tools and systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience.
- 4+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and manufacturing cost concepts.
- Experience with standard costing, manufacturing variances, PPV, inventory, and cost analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both accounting and non-finance teams.
Preferred Experience
- Semiconductor, electronics, technology, or advanced manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing economics, yield, technology nodes, and production cost drivers.
- Experience with activity-based costing and target costing.
- Experience developing cost models and supporting manufacturing profitability initiatives.
- Experience with SAP cost modules or other advanced costing/financial systems.
