Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to support multiple manufacturing operations in a hybrid Atlanta area role. The successful candidate will manage standard costs, inventory accounting, and variance analyses while partnering with finance and operations leadership to improve costing accuracy and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• At least 2 years of standard costing experience and 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with a large ERP system; Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costs, support inventory accounting, and analyze manufacturing variances.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare inventory valuations, financial reports, and cost analyses to support decisions.
• Partner with finance and operations to improve costing accuracy and strengthen internal controls.
• Use ERP reporting and Excel to analyze data and streamline cost accounting processes.

A well-established, growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support multiple manufacturing operations. This highly visible position partners closely with finance and operations leadership to improve costing accuracy, strengthen inventory controls, and provide insight into manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis, along with a proactive approach to improving cost accounting processes in a multi‑site manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain standard costs, support inventory accounting, and analyze manufacturing variances.

• Perform month‑end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Prepare inventory valuations, financial reports, and cost analyses to support business decisions.

• Partner with finance and operations teams to improve costing accuracy and strengthen internal controls.

• Use ERP reporting and Excel to analyze data, streamline workflows, and improve cost accounting processes.
