Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs including material, labor, overhead, inventory, scrap and variances
• Support standard costing, inventory valuation, physical inventory and cycle counts
• Investigate variances and identify operational drivers
• Partner with Operations on productivity and KPI performance
• Perform actual vs. budget, forecast and prior-year analysis
• Support budgeting, forecasting, modeling and scenario analysis
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close and inventory accounting
• Analyze product and customer profitability and margins
• Develop financial reporting, dashboards and tools
• Support internal controls, audits and continuous process improvement
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to leadership

DisruptiX Talent Solutions is partnering with an established global manufacturing organization to identify a Senior Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst for its Long Beach operation.

This is a hands-on role combining manufacturing cost accounting, financial analysis and operational finance. The position will work closely with Finance and Operations leadership to analyze manufacturing performance, improve cost visibility, support forecasting and provide actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs including material, labor, overhead, inventory, scrap and production variances
• Support standard costing, inventory valuation, physical inventory and cycle-count activities
• Investigate cost and manufacturing variances and identify underlying operational drivers
• Partner with Operations on productivity, labor efficiency, inventory performance and other plant KPIs
• Perform actual vs. budget, forecast and prior-year analysis
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and inventory accounting
• Analyze product and customer profitability, margins and manufacturing performance
• Develop and improve financial reporting, dashboards and analytical tools
• Support internal controls, audits and continuous process improvement
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to Finance and operational leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience
• Hands-on knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting and manufacturing variance analysis
• Experience analyzing material, labor and overhead costs
• Strong Excel and financial modeling/analysis capabilities
• Experience working with ERP systems and large financial or operational data sets
• Ability to partner effectively with manufacturing and operations teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred Experience

• Aerospace, metals, industrial or other complex manufacturing environments
• CPA, CMA, MBA or related advanced credentials
• Public-company, SOX or internal-control experience
• Budgeting, forecasting and operational finance experience
• Reporting automation, dashboards or advanced analytical tools

Important:

This position is 100% onsite in Long Beach, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite on a full-time basis.
