Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing cost experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with costing, pricing, and profitability analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines.
• Analyze raw materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs.
• Perform cost variance analysis and identify key profitability drivers.
• Support recommended selling prices based on cost structures and margins.
• Partner with sales on costing, pricing, and margin analysis.
• Participate in pricing strategy reviews weekly.
• Collaborate with production teams to understand processes and cost drivers.
• Provide plant management with cost analysis, reporting, and recommendations.
• Identify inefficiencies and help develop improved costing processes.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines
• Analyze raw materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs
• Perform cost variance analysis and identify the key drivers impacting profitability
• Support recommended selling prices based on cost structures and margin targets
• Partner with the sales team on costing, pricing, and margin analysis
• Participate in weekly reviews of pricing strategy
• Work closely with production teams at two manufacturing facilities to understand processes and cost drivers
• Visit manufacturing plants to gain firsthand knowledge of operations and validate costing assumptions
• Provide plant management with cost analysis, reporting, and recommendations
• Identify inefficiencies and help develop improved costing processes
• Use data and analysis to provide insights that support business decisions
• Take on additional analytical and process improvement projects as you grow in the organization

Who We're Looking For

You could be a great fit if you are:

• A Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Plant Accountant, Financial Analyst, or similar professional with 2+ years of manufacturing cost experience
• A 2-4 year professional currently working for a large or global manufacturing company who is ready for more responsibility
• Someone who recently earned an MBA and wants to leverage your manufacturing/accounting experience into a broader career
• An accounting or finance professional who took a non-traditional career path but has developed strong manufacturing cost knowledge
• Someone with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or another relevant discipline combined with applicable cost experience
• Experienced in a manufacturing environment such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or other process/discrete manufacturing
• Highly analytical and comfortable working with large amounts of data
• Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and modeling
• Comfortable working directly with plant and operations personnel
• A strong communicator who can explain financial and costing information to non-financial stakeholders
• Someone who enjoys finding ways to improve processes rather than simply maintaining the status quo
