Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting seeks a Cost Accountant for a U.S.-based manufacturing company in the Boston MetroWest area. The candidate will perform cost and margin analyses, analyze standard vs.

actual costs, and assist with month-end close and reporting. A BA in accounting/finance with 3–5 years in manufacturing accounting and strong Excel/ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience.
• Cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills.
• Analytical, hands-on approach and ability to partner with operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost and margin analysis across material, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate manufacturing variances.
• Support customer pricing reviews and profitability analysis.
• Manage inventory valuation and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
• Analyze obsolete and slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate reserves.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare cost and operational reporting for management.
• Help improve costing methodologies, inventory controls, and accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audits.

A growing U.S.-based manufacturing company looking to add a Cost Accountant to its finance team.
This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to manufacturing operations and an opportunity to work closely with Finance, Operations, and Production on costing, inventory, margins, and profitability.

What You'll Do

• Perform cost and margin analysis across material, labor, and overhead
• Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate manufacturing variances

What We're Looking For
